Today was my son's first day of PreSchool. Among other activities, the children were asked to color a picture of a flower. I noticed that the other children were much more adept at coloring pictures than my son was. At home, we have a collection of coloring books, but usually choose blank paper. Now I'm wondering if I should encourage the coloring books, to bring my son's skill level up to par with his classmates. I can tell from your site that your answer is probably no. My real question is, where can I find scholarly studies on the subject?

When in North Platte, NE you mentioned books that were ofter read prior to an activity in the anti-coloring book.
Can you tell me what and where these books can be found?
Thanks for getting the Super Hero book to me so promptly. My Grandson was very excited when he opened it yesterday.
Have a wonderful day, Sue Condon condonsk@msn.com
